ArtConcept Gallery is pleased to present the series of artworks "Cases“ by Alexander Dashevsky at the Art Show Zurich.
Alexander Dashevsky was born in 1980 in St. Petersburg. He has graduated from St. Petersburg's University of Cinematography and the Repin Academy of Art. He studied under M. Ivanov in St. Petersburg. Alexander Dashevsky is a member of IFA and the Free Culture Society. His artworks are located in different museums around Russia as well as in private collections in USA, UK, Italy, Switzerland and Israel.
"By creating the series of works "Cases“ I wanted to show how the abstract meaning of the art and the modern utopia are integrated into our life. Mondrian or Malevich as well as Bauhaus artists dreamed about the transformation of the internal meaning of the human being through the whole world and the environment. In the new rational and functional world everybody is supposed to have their own deserved share. The way to create the equality and happiness seemed clear. Done. The environment is transformed completely. But there happiness and the equality stayed the same.” A. Dashevsky
Russian contemporary art represents a great collection of society's symptoms, hidden relationships, and dynamics, which are not often visible on the very surface layer especially perpetuated by mass media. As well as questioning the established status quo and proposing new and different possibilities, contemporary art also creates distinct units of meaning, which enter the vocabulary and have repercussions for the whole culture. In this way contemporary art can be like a filter through which you can see the Russian history and culture in a totally different light.
ArtConcept has been working with contemporary artists, private collectors and art investors since January 2009 and works together with the Art Atlas Gallery Moscow. We offer talented contemporary artists a platform to present their paintings, graphics and sculpture. Our mission is to build a bridge between the artist and the viewer, and become a shelter for the contemporary art today by giving it a home.
